The second-quarter earnings of diversified banks stocks show a mixed picture, with U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB) underperforming its peers. Despite beating analysts' expectations by 2.1%, the company's revenues grew only 9.9% year-on-year to $7.76 billion.

Citigroup (NYSE:C), on the other hand, reported exceptional growth with a revenue increase of 14.3% to $24.79 billion, beating analysts' expectations by 4.5%. This performance was driven by strong net interest income, which also beat estimates.

JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) delivered the strongest results among the seven diversified banks stocks tracked, with revenues growing 27% year-on-year to $58.02 billion and beating analysts' expectations by 13%. The company's performance was driven by a narrow beat of tangible book value per share estimates.
