Dividend Kings Extend Payout Streaks Amid Earnings Growth
Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble have both extended their multidecade dividend payout streaks, making them Dividend Kings. Johnson & Johnson has raised its dividend for 64 consecutive years, while Procter & Gamble has done so for 70 years. Both companies have a strong balance sheet and the ability to continue paying dividends.
Johnson & Johnson's oncology business is driving revenue growth, with first-quarter 2026 revenue reaching $24.06 billion, up 9.9% year over year. The company has also raised its fiscal 2026 guidance to adjusted EPS of $11.45 to $11.65.
Procter & Gamble's commitment to returning around $15 billion to shareholders in fiscal 2027 underscores management's confidence in cash generation. However, the company faces a headwind from commodity and currency fluctuations that could shave around 8% from core EPS growth next year.
