DLSS 5 Launches September 3rd: Nvidia Promises Photorealistic Graphics
Nvidia's DLSS 5 neural rendering technology is set to launch on September 3rd, and it promises to take game graphics to a new level. According to Nvidia, this 3D-bound technique uses AI to generate images that are more photorealistic than traditional methods.
The goal of DLSS 5 is to maximize photorealism without the massive computational cost required by traditional methods. However, it's worth noting that this technology won't be free - enabling it in NBA 2K27 will hit performance by around 50-60%, although Nvidia encourages users to balance this with other parts of the DLSS software suite.
The technology will only work on RTX 5000 graphics cards at launch, and Nvidia recommends that users have an RTX 5070 or better to get the most out of it. This is because the better the source, the better the final image is going to look, according to Nvidia.
