DLSS 5 Performance Gains Accelerate with Nvidia's New Optimisations
Nvidia is continuing to improve its DLSS 5 technology, which was first revealed in March. The company has announced that it plans to boost performance by another 7x in October, following a 5x increase since the initial announcement. This would represent a 50% gain over today's DLSS 5 performance, according to Nvidia.
Nvidia attributes the rapid progress to 'systematic pipeline optimizations' and 'neural model refinements'. The company is also working on enabling easy game integration through its Streamline tool and an Unreal Engine 5 Plugin. This suggests that Nvidia is committed to making DLSS 5 a seamless experience for gamers.
The fact that Nvidia's optimization curve hasn't flattened out yet means that there is still room for improvement. The company has promised further updates in the Fall, which could bring even more significant performance gains. However, it's worth noting that DLSS 5 will likely remain a taxing technology, at least until Nvidia's next-generation GPUs are released.
