Dolly Parton Passes Away at Age 80 Following Months of Health Concerns
Beloved country music icon Dolly Parton passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80. The news was confirmed through her official Instagram account via a video message from her nephew Bryan Seaver on behalf of the Parton family.
Parton's health had been a subject of concern for several months prior to her passing. In September 2025, she announced that she would not be able to fulfill her previously scheduled six-show residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas due to health reasons.
This was not the first time Parton had canceled engagements due to health issues. In November 2025, she also declined to participate in the Motion Picture Academy's Governors Awards, where she was set to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
Parton's connection to Disney went beyond her music career. She played the role of Aunt Dolly on the popular show 'Hannah Montana' and even performed a duet with Minnie Mouse during the Walt Disney World's 15th Birthday Celebration television special in 1986.
