Google has paid tribute to the late Dolly Parton with a special animation when searching her name. The butterfly icon appears at the bottom of the screen and, upon clicking it, several monarch butterflies take flight across the screen before displaying 'We Will Always Love You'. This is not the first time Google has honored notable figures; earlier in the week, they featured artwork of Great Smoky Mountains National Park as part of National Park Week.

Tributes to Parton have been displayed worldwide since her family announced her passing at 80. The Empire State Building turned pink to nod to '9 to 5', and Knoxville's Henley Bridge paid homage to 'Coat of Many Colors'. In England, Buckingham Palace guards played an instrumental rendition of '9 to 5' during a changing of the guard ceremony.
