Dominos Pizza Aims to Join Fast Food Elite with Its New Detroit-Style Pizza
Dominos Pizza has launched its 'Is the Domino Worthy?' promotion to gauge whether its new Detroit-style pizza, shaped like the company's iconic logo, should join the ranks of famous fast-food menu items. The Domino is made for one person and features a crispy Parmesan crust topped with two layers of cheese, customers' choice of sauce, up to three toppings, and a drizzle of garlic seasoning.
The pizza was rated as one of the best-tasting products in Domino's history and is available for purchase at participating locations. To try it for free, customers must upload their receipt from buying a select menu item from competitors McDonald's Big Mac, Burger King Whopper, Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme, Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, or Chipotle Burrito to IsTheDominoWorthy.com.
Dominos executive vice president Kate Trumbull said the company saw an opportunity to reinvent pizza and created a product that solves the problem of sharing toppings. The Domino will be handed out for free while supplies last, with up to $1 million worth given away in total.
