Doonbeg Prepares for Amgen Irish Open Restrictions
The Amgen Irish Open golf tournament is set to bring in visitors from around the world to Doonbeg, but locals are preparing for some restrictions due to take place. A meeting was held at the village community hall where representatives from Trump International Golf Links and Hotel, DP World, Clare County Council, and An Garda Síochána briefed local stakeholders on the measures.
Parking will be prohibited in the village from tomorrow, while the N67 road will be closed to traffic from Friday. However, locals can still access the village without any limitations, according to Doonbeg Community Development Chairperson Willie Hanrahan.
The tournament is expected to attract a large number of visitors, and residents are being encouraged to make use of park-and-ride shuttle buses to access the golf course. Those looking to access property on either side of the security cordon will require ID and proof of address or a garda pass.
