Dow and Nasdaq Surge as Inflation Report and Tech Gains Boost Market
The Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite Index both rose by over 1% on Friday, breaking a four-session losing streak. This increase was attributed to various factors including a relatively in-line inflation report, lower oil prices, and gains in tech stocks such as Dell, HPE, Apple, and others.
Specifically, the Dow Jones added 509.19 ticks (0.98%) to its close at 52,573.29, while the Nasdaq gained 251.31 points (0.96%) to reach 26,373.03.
