Dow Falls 0.02% as US Stocks Close Lower on Friday
US stocks closed lower on Friday, led by declines in the Industrials, Utilities, and Technology sectors. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.02%, with Amazon.com Inc leading gains at 3.97%. NVIDIA Corporation suffered the largest loss at 4.58%.
The S&P 500 saw losses as well, with PayPal Holdings Inc down 12.71% and PG&E Corp losing 7.52%. However, FMC Corporation rose 6.24%, Domino's Pizza Inc gained 5.40%, and Lululemon Athletica Inc increased by 5.05%.
The NASDAQ Composite also declined, with FingerMotion Inc up 129.53% but BioXcel Therapeutics Inc down 74.76%. The US dollar index rose 0.53% to 99.62, while the EUR/USD fell 0.58% to 1.16.
In commodities trading, gold for December delivery dropped 3.37% to $4,506.59 per troy ounce, and crude oil for October delivery fell 0.12% to $83.43 a barrel.
