Dow Hits Record as Palantir Stock Soars 16% on Q2 Earnings
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at an all-time high on Monday, and US stock futures continued to rise on Tuesday. Palantir Technologies' $PLTR stock led premarket gains with a 16% surge after releasing its second-quarter earnings.
Nasdaq $NDAQ-100 futures followed suit, increasing by 0.7%, while Micron $MU rose 3% and Marvell jumped 7%. Dow futures added 201 points, or 0.5%, with S&P 500 futures rising 0.2%.
Caterpillar $CAT stock gained 6% after its second-quarter earnings surpassed Wall Street estimates. Crude prices also rose, with WTI futures settling at $81.82 a barrel and Brent crude advancing to $85.74.
