Dow Jones Falls on Home Depot and Microsoft Losses, but Other Stocks Lift Index
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed at 53,770.27 on Wednesday, down 21.58 points from its previous day's close.
According to TechStock², the drop was largely due to a combined share loss of $22.43 by two stocks: Home Depot and Microsoft.
Their losses totaled about 133 points, exceeding the total decline of the DJI, which meant that the remaining 28 components contributed approximately 112 points in gains, resulting in a net shortfall.
