Dow Jones Futures Fluctuate Amid Global Market Volatility
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), also known as the US30, has been experiencing fluctuations in recent days. According to Fxstreet, on August 17th, Monday, Dow Jones futures declined by 0.12%, trading around $53,740 during European hours. Meanwhile, S&P 500 futures gained, hovering around $7,820, and Nasdaq 100 futures surged by 0.5%, trading near $30,290.
The US30 is a widely followed index that tracks the performance of the top 30 large U.S. companies from various sectors. These include technology, finance, healthcare, consumer goods, and energy. The US30 was created in 1896 by Charles Dow and Edward Jones, initially calculated at a value of $40.94 USD. Today, the Top 30 companies are considered blue-chip stocks, representing some of the most stable and well-established companies in the U.S. economy.
