Dow Plunges as Energy Stocks Shine Amid Market Volatility
US stocks took a hit on Wednesday as the Dow Jones index plummeted by around 1% to 52,423.22.
The decline marked a reversal of earlier gains seen in the prior session, where the Dow had closed at 52,921.65.
Energy shares bucked the trend, rising 0.3%, while materials stocks fell by 2%.
Helen Of Troy reported upbeat Q1 results, beating analyst expectations with earnings of 17 cents per share and quarterly sales of $402.115 million.
