Dow & S&P Hit Records Amid Oil Price Drop
The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 both reached record highs on Tuesday. The blue-chip Dow was up 0.9%, while the benchmark S&P 500 rose by 0.7%. This surge in market averages came as oil prices dipped due to talks about the Hormuz Strait.
Caterpillar Inc. also posted a record quarter, with sales soaring. However, not all news was positive, as data from the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) showed a cooling down of job openings.
