Dow Surges Over 100 Points as Target Posts Upbeat Earnings
U.S. stocks traded higher on Wednesday, with the Dow Jones index gaining over 100 points.
The Dow rose 0.25% to 53,476.44 while the NASDAQ increased by 0.10% to 26,317.02.
The S&P 500 also saw gains, rising 0.37% to 7,719.97.
Healthcare shares led the way, increasing by 3.1% on Wednesday.
On the other hand, information technology stocks fell by 0.3% in trading on Wednesday.
Target Corp (NYSE:TGT) reported better-than-expected earnings for Q2, beating analyst consensus estimates with quarterly earnings of $2.46 per share and sales of $26.539 billion.
The company raised its FY2026 adjusted EPS guidance from $8.50 to $9.90-$10.90 and increased sales forecast from $108.971 billion to $110.019 billion.
