Dow Tumbles Nearly 1% Amid Earnings Pressure and Disappointing Guidance
U.S. stocks closed lower on Thursday as investors took a cautious stance following another round of earnings reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average led the declines, falling nearly 1% to 53,890.40.
The S&P 500 slipped modestly by -0.18%, while the Nasdaq Composite held up relatively well despite weakness in several technology names.
Several heavyweight components of the Dow contributed to its decline, including Boeing (-3.34%), Salesforce (-3.20%), Honeywell (-2.95%), Goldman Sachs (-2.62%), and UnitedHealth (-2.14%).
SanDisk was also a notable disappointment, with its stock selling off sharply despite reporting another strong quarter.
