Dreamforce Focus: Salesforce-Athropic Partnership Awaits Further Details
Salesforce is set to host its annual Dreamforce conference in San Francisco from September 15-17. One of the key areas investors will be watching closely is the implementation of the company's partnership with Anthropic, which was announced recently.
The Claudeforce partnership provides for the direct integration of Anthropic's Claude model into Salesforce's platform. This combines the advanced reasoning capabilities of Anthropic's models with customer data, workflows, business logic, and governance mechanisms built into Salesforce.
According to UBS analyst Karl Keirstead, the collaboration includes a new plugin that allows Anthropic users to access and act on Salesforce data directly through Anthropic's platform rather than through Salesforce's traditional user interface. Keirstead sees this partnership positively but notes it is too early to determine its potential impact on Salesforce's revenue growth in fiscal 2028.
Not everyone is optimistic about the Claudeforce integration, however. Needham analyst Scott Berg calls it a shift in Salesforce's strategy and questions how customers will perceive the platform when combined with Claude. In his view, this means Salesforce is relinquishing control over the user-interface layer, which could affect perceptions of the platform's value and customers' willingness to pay for Salesforce data and workflows.
