Druckenmiller Bets Big on AI with Latest Portfolio Moves
Billionaire hedge fund manager Stanley Druckenmiller's Duquesne Family Office recently filed its quarterly holdings report, revealing some notable portfolio moves. One of them was selling a portion of its SanDisk stock (SNDK) and buying into three other AI-related companies.
The sale of SanDisk stock seems to be a prudent move, given the company's strong performance in the first half of the year. Druckenmiller's fund increased its stake in Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM), Alphabet (GOOG)(GOOGL), and Amazon (AMZN).
Taiwan Semiconductor is the largest logic chip producer on Earth, and as AI computing increases, so will demand for chips. Alphabet and Amazon are benefiting from the AI arms race through their cloud computing divisions, which are helping meet the huge demand for processing power to run AI workloads.
The growth derived from these massive investments hasn't started impacting their finances yet, but it's expected to have a significant impact in the future. Druckenmiller increased his firm's Amazon stake by 19% in Q2, and Alphabet was a new addition to the portfolio, making up a 2.75% position.
