Druckenmiller Shifts $5 Billion Portfolio from Chipmakers to AI Heavyweights
Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller has made significant portfolio adjustments, selling off his stakes in Intel and Micron Technology to buy into Amazon and Tesla. Duquesne Capital, the firm he manages with roughly $5.2 billion in US equities, exited its positions in Intel and Micron entirely during the second quarter.
Druckenmiller's firm built substantial new positions in Amazon and Tesla, with a notable increase in Amazon shares. The stake in AMZN was expanded by elevenfold to about 541,600 shares, while more than doubling its call-option position, making it one of the fund's top 10 holdings.
The scale of the move suggests Druckenmiller has conviction beyond simple index tracking. He is betting that the technology cycle's next economic returns will accrue to companies deploying automated physical agents rather than those building the chips beneath them.
