Dylan Sprouse Blasts Child Labor in Entertainment Industry
Former Disney star Dylan Sprouse has spoken out about his experiences as a child actor. He claims that working in the entertainment industry at a young age is essentially 'child labor.' In an episode of his podcast, Wildmen, Sprouse discussed how he and his brother Cole got their start in acting, debuting at six years old in the film Big Daddy.
Sprouse and his twin brother Cole rose to fame after starring in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody on Disney Channel. Dylan has since stepped away from acting but returned to the industry after graduating from Gallatin School of Individualized Study in 2015. He expressed that he still deals with 'mental hurdles' when working in the entertainment industry as an adult.
'I act like a kid anyway,' Sprouse said during the podcast episode. 'So, I wonder if I'm just always chasing that.' When discussing child labor with his guest Mark Indelicato, Sprouse compared acting as a child to working a full office job, stating that he grew up in the industry with a workaholic attitude.
