Earnings Week: Five Heavyweight Stocks to Watch as US Markets Gear Up for Pivotal Reports
The US markets are preparing for another pivotal week of corporate earnings, starting August 3. Five heavyweight companies, worth a combined $2.8 trillion, will report results that could significantly impact sentiment across pharma, semiconductors, and industrials.
Eli Lilly, the world's largest pharmaceutical company, valued at around $1.03 trillion, is set to report before Wednesday's open. Analysts expect EPS of $6.71 on revenue of $20.26 billion, a 30.2% year-over-year increase, driven by growth from its Mounjaro and Zepbound franchises.
Caterpillar, worth close to $383 billion, also reports Tuesday after the close. Wall Street forecasts EPS of $6.25, up 32.4% from a year ago, on revenue of $19.31 billion, with data-centre power demand emerging as an unexpected tailwind for the industrial bellwether.
