Easdales Seek Approval For Massive Greenock Data Centre Plan
A major data centre plan has been submitted to Inverclyde Council by Slate Island Developments Ltd, seeking permission for a massive facility at the former IBM site in Greenock.
The proposed data centre would cover an area of approximately 80,000 square metres and consist of four buildings up to 18 metres high on land owned by Sandy and James Easdale.
Data centres are specialized facilities that house computer systems, storage devices, and networking infrastructure to handle large amounts of digital data. They support the use of digital services like cloud computing/storage, online web streaming, and the use of current high memory usage software.
