EBRD Unleashes AI-Powered Knowledge Tool
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has been investing across emerging economies since its founding in 1991. After decades of work, it had amassed a wealth of knowledge buried in archives.
Véronique Salze-Lozac’h, former Chief Evaluator at the EBRD, noted that 'Very often people don't read the reports.'
The bank brought together its evaluation team, information management specialists, and AI Centre of Excellence to create 'LessonsBot', a tool built on Microsoft Azure.
This tool helps staff find and use insights from across the bank’s vast library of evaluation reports. When a user asks a question about a country, sector, or type of investment, Lessons Bot searches a curated set of more than 300 reports and provides relevant material with inline references.
