Edge Gets New Features, Ditches Edge Drop
Microsoft Edge has received an update that brings several new features to the browser. One of the notable additions is the ability to sign in using an Apple account, making it easier for users to access their Microsoft Edge profile on both Windows and macOS devices.
The update also includes a feature that automatically unsubscribes users from notifications related to scams and malicious sites. This is aimed at protecting users from malicious web notifications and will be rolled out gradually.
However, the same update marks the official retirement of Edge Drop, a feature that allowed users to send messages, files, and photos to themselves within the browser. Although Microsoft never confirmed it, industry insiders suspect that the rise of Copilot may have contributed to the decision to retire Edge Drop.
