Edwardsville High Students Paint Their Personalized Parking Spots
A growing tradition at Edwardsville High School in Illinois saw students decorating their personalized parking spots. The event, which began three years ago by a group of seniors, has seen participation increase from 88 to 150 students this year.
The tradition allows students to express themselves through art and design on the pavement outside the school building. With access to a discount code for Sherwin-Williams weather-resistant paint, students were able to get creative with their designs.
One senior, Campbell Garrett, chose to paint a sunrise and waves on her parking spot because she wanted something 'vibrant' after waking up feeling dead in the mornings. Another student, Gareen Warren, went with an 'Attack on Titan' theme, inspired by the anime show that resonated with her during this chapter of her life.
The tradition has grown each year since its inception, and no teachers have registered to decorate their spots yet. The event is a reflection of the students' enthusiasm for self-expression and creativity.
