Eight-Foot Sculpture Made from Emirates' Airplane Parts Unveiled at Arsenal FC Stadium
The Emirates and Arsenal FC partnership has reached a milestone with the unveiling of an eight-foot sculpture made from upcycled Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 parts. The Aircrafted Arsenal Crest, as it's called, took 34 days to create by a team of 15 engineers at Emirates' Engineering department.
The design features Emirates' iconic cannon motif from the Arsenal FC badge, with the main landing gear wheel hub forming the center of the cannon wheel and a section of titanium bleed air duct cut and reshaped to create its barrel. The face of the shield is made from Boeing 777 aluminium fuselage skin, while the lettering uses reshaped aircraft windows.
Emirates CEO Tim Clark said of the design: 'The craftsmanship behind the crest is exceptional. It reflects the precision, discipline, and ambition that define both aviation and elite sport, while giving these aircraft materials an entirely new purpose.'
