Emory College Class of 2030 Crosses Gate, Toasts Legacy of Robert W. Woodruff
The Emory College Class of 2030 took part in their first university tradition at the fifth-annual Gate Crossing + Coke Toast on August 24.
First-year students, dressed in blue Emory T-shirts, walked through the historic Haygood-Hopkins Gate accompanied by cheers from faculty, staff, and alumni.
The procession continued to the Quad where Interim President Leah Ward Sears led a Coca-Cola Toast in honor of Robert W. Woodruff, former CEO and president of The Coca-Cola Company.
The tradition is meant to welcome students to campus while honoring Woodruff's philanthropic gifts that transformed Emory into what it is today.
