Enable Auto-Delete OTP Feature in Google Messages

Google Messages is the default messaging app on Android phones, and it's constantly getting better. However, one issue users often face is cluttered inboxes due to One Time Passwords (OTPs) and sign-in codes from carriers or courier companies. To address this problem, Google introduced a feature in 2021 that automatically removes OTPs after 24 hours.

However, this setting was disabled by default, so many users may not have noticed it. If you're among them, here's how to enable the auto-delete OTP feature in Messages:

To do this, open the Google Messages app and tap your profile photo in the top-right corner. Then, go to Settings > Message organization and toggle on Auto-delete OTP messages after 24 hours. This setting will delete both standalone OTP messages and those received inside a message thread.
