Energy Sector Sees Surge in Investments Amid Climate Focus
Energy and climate deals dominated this past week's news, with several significant investments and partnerships announced. Among them was Dogotix, a robotics subsidiary of listed Chinese EV maker Xpeng, which raised $900m at a $3b valuation from investors like Alibaba and IDG Capital.
Another notable deal was Starcloud, a Redmond, Wash.-based developer of orbital data centers, which secured $250m in Series A extension funding at $2.3b post-money. The round was led by Manhattan West, with participation from Nvidia, Cisco Investments, Cedar Capital, and others.
Nvidia also invested in Cloverleaf Infrastructure, a Houston developer of clean energy-based data centers, whose backers include Sandbrook Capital and NGP Energy Capital.
