Energy Stocks with Unbroken Dividend Records Deliver Consistent Income
The energy sector is home to some of the best dividend stocks on the market, and three companies stand out for their ability to maintain consistent payouts. Chevron has been able to sustain its dividend payments for over 50 years, despite volatile oil prices.
Chevron's success can be attributed to its conservative approach to dividend payments. The company ensures that it doesn't overcommit to these payments, and last year, it covered its total 2025 per-share payout of $6.84 with earnings. Chevron has raised its annual per-share payout for 39 consecutive years and currently boasts a forward-looking dividend yield of 3.8%, one of the best in the business.
Another energy stock that has never cut its dividend is Enbridge, which operates as a midstream company, delivering gas and oil through its extensive pipeline network. This business model allows Enbridge to maintain consistent profitability, despite fluctuations in oil prices. As a result, it has raised its dividend payment every year for the past 31 years.
EOG Resources is another energy stock that has never cut its dividend since becoming a standalone publicly traded entity in 1999. The company has upped its annual per-share payout for nine consecutive years and has a three-year capital spending plan that will plausibly produce annual cash flow growth of 5% and free cash flow growth of at least 6%, most of which will be used to continue growing its dividend payment.
