Epcot Monorail Narration Gets a Refresh with Walt Disney Audio

The EPCOT Monorail narration has undergone significant changes, removing references to canceled attractions and adding a snippet of Walt Disney's audio. The new narrator does not sound like Tom Kane, who passed away earlier this year and had been voicing the monorails since 2012. Instead, guests will hear Walt Disney explain what EPCOT stands for: Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

The descriptions of the park as guests circle around it are broader, with no more references to projects like the Play pavilion or Mary Poppins ride, which were quietly canceled or indefinitely delayed. The World Showcase section now focuses on countries in general, without mentioning specific ones. The Imagination! pavilion still mentions Figment, but drops any reference to the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival.

The narrator also emphasizes no vaping allowed on the Monorail, a message that has been added to other lines as well. Soarin' is now simply referred to without a specific geographical descriptor, and The Seas With Nemo & Friends shifts its focus from Finding Nemo to real aquatic animals.
