Epcot's Spaceship Earth Ride Gets Major Revamp

Disney's Imagineers are revamping classic attractions to keep them relevant for future generations of riders. The latest example is Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, which will undergo a major transformation in the coming months.

The current version of Spaceship Earth, featuring Dame Judi Dench as the narrator, was introduced in 2008 and takes riders on a 20-minute journey through the history and future of communication. However, the ride's theme is being swapped for one of 'human connection,' with Imagineers stressing that the ride will 'remain classically EPCOT' while taking the ride's narrative 'into the Internet age and beyond.'

This change is part of a larger effort by Disney to reinvest in classic rides, which includes recent updates to attractions like Test Track at EPCOT and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
