Equinix Unveils Nvidia-Backed AI Inference Exchange
Equinix introduced Equinix Inference Exchange, a distributed AI inference platform developed in partnership with Nvidia and Together AI. The platform combines Nvidia's Enterprise Reference Architectures, Together AI's inference technology supporting over 200 open-source models, and Equinix's global network of more than 280 data centers across 77 metropolitan markets.
The service is designed to let enterprises connect to data, users, and ecosystems through Equinix Fabric, the company's interconnection service that links to cloud platforms, network providers, and AI service providers. The platform addresses three primary enterprise scenarios: metro edge inference, open model migration, and sovereign AI for regulated industries.
Equinix shares rose 2% after the announcement was made at the company's first-ever customer conference, Equinix Horizon. The offering is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2027.
