Equity Funds Soar for 12th Straight Week on Earnings Optimism
Global equity funds continued their streak of attracting inflows for the 12th consecutive week through August 12, according to data from LSEG Lipper. Investors bought a net $18.62 billion in global equity funds during this period, surpassing the previous week's $17.27 billion in net purchases.
The MSCI All-Country World Equity Index reached a record high of 1,163.05 on Wednesday and rose 2.85% last week, its best performance since April 17. Strong earnings from AI-related companies like Caterpillar and Palantir contributed to this growth.
Meanwhile, European equity funds saw their largest weekly net inflow since July 8, attracting $13.52 billion. U.S. and Asian equity funds also recorded inflows of $2.58 billion and $4.13 billion, respectively.
