Erv Ristau Dies at Age 85 in Minnesota

Ervin 'Erv' Ristau passed away on August 8th at the age of 85. He was born in Carimona Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota, and spent his life in the surrounding area. Ervin grew up in a house he later inherited from his parents.

He attended Preston High School until his senior year, then transferred to Waseca School of Agriculture, where he graduated in 1960. After working on his brother's farm, he took a job at Touhy Furniture and eventually landed a position at IBM in 1964. While still working for IBM, Ervin purchased the Ristau home farm with his wife Judy.

Ervin loved many things in life: his family, fishing, hunting, dogs, food, and selling Black Angus steers at the Lanesboro Sales Barn. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
