ESPN8: The Ocho Celebrates 10 Years with Unconventional Sports Events
ESPN8: The Ocho is celebrating its 10-year anniversary by hosting some unconventional sports events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Walt Disney World. One of these unique games is roofball, which involves throwing a football onto a roof and catching it when it comes off. Fourteen-time champion Derek Weber was on hand to demonstrate the game.
The Housekeeping Games are another event being held, where participants compete in events such as mop obstacle courses and vacuuming races. This sport originated 36 years ago as a way to entertain housekeepers, but has since expanded to include other sectors of environmental services.
Slippery Stairs is also making an appearance at the complex, where competitors must navigate a set of slippery stairs to reach the top and ring a bell. The game involves a relay round that adds an extra level of challenge. Finally, Donk Toss will be held, where participants try to toss inflatable donkeys into a designated landing zone.
