Ethiopian Airlines Eyes Up To Ten Freighters From Boeing
Ethiopian Airlines is reportedly considering an order for up to 10 freighters from Boeing, including the 777F and new generation 777-8F models.
The airline currently has a fleet of 12 777Fs, four converted 737-800Fs, and three 767-300Fs operated by Ethiopian Cargo.
The rumoured deal suggests that Ethiopian Airlines is seeking to secure capacity more quickly with the 777Fs, as it would face a lengthy wait for any 777-8F orders to be fulfilled.
Boeing had initially hoped to start delivering the 777-8F in 2027 but has pushed back this timeline to 2028 due to certification issues.
