Ethos Technologies Touts Digital Life Insurance Growth at Goldman Sachs Conference
Ethos Technologies presented its growth strategy at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026, highlighting its success in disrupting the life insurance industry. The company's digital channel grew more than 130% year over year in the latest quarter, while maintaining unit economics consistent with the prior year.
Chief Executive Peter Colis emphasized that Ethos is not a traditional insurer, but rather a technology platform connecting consumers, agents, and carrier partners. By automating the underwriting process and leveraging data from pharmaceutical records, medical claims billing, and blood lab information, Ethos can price complex risk profiles quickly.
Ethos has built a large automated underwriting data set, using machine learning to validate decisions and refine models. The company's financial results show revenue of $586.53 million in the last twelve months, representing growth of 83% year over year, with a gross profit margin of 98%. Analysts predict Ethos will turn profitable this year, with earnings per share forecast at $1.88 for fiscal 2026.
Colis said that as much as 50% of the life insurance market could eventually move to digital channels, comparing it to the shift seen in auto insurance with companies like Progressive and Geico. Ethos plans to continue improving its main drivers of unit economics, including underwriting accuracy, persistency, conversion rates, brand building, and marketing efficiency.
