European Stocks Poised for Fourth Straight Year of Gains
European stocks are expected to continue their upward trend, according to a recent survey of strategists by Bloomberg. The Stoxx Europe 600 index is projected to reach around 651 points by year-end, representing a full-year rally of about 10%. This would mark the fourth straight year of gains in Europe's longest winning streak since 2015.
Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan strategists are among the most optimistic about European stocks, citing robust corporate earnings and an improving economic outlook. Sharon Bell, senior European equity strategist at Goldman Sachs, noted that 'Europe has done much better than almost everybody would have expected at the outset of this year.'
However, not all strategists share this optimism. Bank of America's Sebastian Raedler expects a potential increase in equity risk premiums due to unresolved issues around energy supply and US economic uncertainty.
