EVA Air Connects Taipei Directly to Washington Dulles

EVA Air has launched its first-ever nonstop flight between Taipei and Washington Dulles, marking a significant milestone in the airline's expansion into North America.

The service began on June 26th, operating four times a week with a Boeing 787-9 aircraft. This direct link has been years in the making, as travellers previously had to connect through hubs like San Francisco or Tokyo before reaching their destination.

EVA Air's new route is not only a convenience for passengers but also a boost to the local economy, estimated to pump over $61 million annually into Washington's economy. The airline sees this as an opportunity to deepen ties between Taiwan and the US, with its 10th North American gateway in Dulles.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is the key to making this long-haul route viable, thanks to its efficiency and range. This trend of direct transpacific flights is connecting Asia directly with North America, opening up new possibilities for travel and trade between these regions.
