Execs Slam Microsoft's Copilot AI for Fostering 'Slop' and 'Genericness'

Microsoft's Copilot AI tool has been rolled out across Microsoft 365 in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, where enterprise AI adoption is high. However, some executives are starting to express concerns about its limitations.

Ryan Roslansky, a Microsoft EVP responsible for LinkedIn, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams, recently complained on LinkedIn that someone had sent him an 'AI-generated doc' that he found unhelpful.

Roslansky realized the document was AI-generated and asked his AI to summarize it. However, the result was underwhelming, with no new insights added.

He characterized this experience as a 'doom loop', where relying on AI summaries leads to generic and unengaging content.
