F-15EX Eagle II Delayed Until Early 2028 Amid Boeing Production Issues
The U.S. Air Force's F-15EX Eagle II program has hit another snag due to production delays caused by a 15-week strike at Boeing and ongoing issues with restoring production.
A report from the Department of War states that full operational capability for the aircraft will not be reached until early 2028, six months beyond its approved July 2027 threshold.
The delay adds pressure to an already expanded program, which now plans to produce 268 jets, up from the original 98. Boeing must increase production to two aircraft a month to meet delivery commitments for Lot 4 and subsequent batches.
