FAA Certification Paves Way for Delivery of Boeing 737 MAX-7

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has certified Boeing's 737 MAX-7 aircraft after nearly a decade of regulatory review.

This certification allows Boeing to provide a new narrowbody aircraft option in its updated MAX family, unlocking a capacity tier that had been unavailable from the MAX line.

The MAX-8 and MAX-9 have been flying commercially for years, but the MAX-7 sat in regulatory limbo due to the 2019 grounding of the broader 737 MAX fleet.

The delay ran close to a decade from the program's original certification timeline, reflecting how much the regulatory environment shifted after the crashes of Lion Air Flight 610 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302.
