FAA Certifies Boeing 737-7 for Commercial Service
Boeing has secured an amended type certificate from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its Boeing 737-7 aircraft, clearing it for entry into commercial service. The certification comes after a multi-year program with extensive flight and ground testing, human factors evaluations, and system safety assessments.
The Boeing 737-7 is the longest-range variant of the 737 MAX family, with a range of up to 3,800 nautical miles (7,040 km). It is designed for airlines operating from high-altitude and hot-weather environments. The aircraft seats 135-160 passengers in a typical two-class configuration.
Boeing said the aircraft delivers around a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions compared to its predecessor. Additionally, it reduces noise by about 50%.
