FAA Certifies Boeing's New 737-7 Airplane for Commercial Service
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has granted Boeing an amended type certificate for its new 737-7 airplane, clearing it for commercial service.
This certification validates the design and safety of the 737-7, which is the smallest member of the 737 MAX family. The aircraft offers a range of up to 3,800 nautical miles and seats 135-160 passengers in a two-class configuration.
Boeing's development team worked through challenges and transitions to meet all commercial aviation regulations. The certification effort included over 1,000 hours of flight and ground testing, as well as system safety analysis and human factors reviews.
