FAA Certifies Boeing's Smallest 737 MAX Airliner

Boeing has secured certification for its smallest 737 MAX airliner, the 737-7. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted an amended type certificate to Boeing following extensive testing that began in 2018.

This marks a significant milestone for Boeing, which has faced numerous challenges with safety, quality, and production issues over the years.

The 737-7 model offers between 135 to 160 seats in a two-class configuration and provides about 10% more range potential than its siblings. It is the longest-range member of the 737 MAX family.

Boeing's development team demonstrated that the airplane meets all commercial aviation regulations through over 1,000 hours of flight and ground testing, extensive system safety analysis, and human factors reviews.
