FAA Clears Boeing 737-7 for Commercial Service
Boeing has secured certification for its newest aircraft, the 737-7, from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The certification allows the plane to enter commercial service. This development comes after a multi-year testing program that included over 1,000 hours of flight and ground testing.
The 737-7 is part of Boeing's 737 MAX family, which includes larger variants such as the 737-8 and 737-10. The new aircraft boasts improved fuel efficiency, reducing fuel use by 20% and CO2 emissions by 50% compared to its predecessors.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes President Stephanie Pope praised the certification, saying 'This important certification validates the rigor of our airplane's design and recognizes the determination and resilience of our 737 MAX development team.'
