FAA Clears Boeing 737-7 for Commercial Service
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted Boeing an amended type certificate for its new 737-7 airplane, clearing it for commercial service.
This certification validates the design and safety of the aircraft, which was developed by Boeing's dedicated team during a multi-year effort.
The 737-7 is the smallest member of the 737 MAX family, offering 135 to 160 seats in a two-class configuration while providing about 10% more range potential than its siblings.
The regulatory approval comes after Boeing demonstrated through comprehensive testing and analysis that the airplane meets all commercial aviation regulations.
Boeing's team held regular discussions with the FAA to ensure they understood the requirements and provided transparency of their progress.
