FAA Clears Boeing 737 Max 7 After Decade-Long Certification Delay
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has finally certified the Boeing 737 Max 7, the smallest model in the popular aircraft family.
This comes after nearly a decade of delays due to increased regulatory scrutiny following two fatal crashes of the in-service Max 8 in 2018 and 2019, as well as other safety and manufacturing crises.
The redesign of an engine anti-icing system also contributed to the certification delay.
